Melody Cassels, MD
A native Texan, Dr. Cassels graduated from Texas A&M University in the university honors program. She holds her medical degree from McGovern Medical School in Houston and finished her medical training in Phoenix, Arizona mostly at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Banner Good Samaritan Hospital. She completed a dual-specialty residency allowing her to practice in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Dr. Cassels is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Internal Medicine. She is active in multiple medical societies.
Dr. Cassels has been practicing at Austex Pediatrics since 2008. She has done interviews with KUT and KVUE news on topics relating to pediatrics and has been honored with being listed in the Super Doctors Rising Stars and Super Doctors in Texas Monthly multiple times as well as Austin Monthly’s “Top Docs for Kids”. She feels she was born to be a pediatrician and loves working with families in the health and development of their children. In her free time, she enjoys working out, gardening and spending time with her husband and three children. Since her oldest child has Angelman Syndrome, she also has a special interest in working with families with special needs children.
