Dr. Amanda Major is a board-certified pediatrician dedicated to providing compassionate, comprehensive care for children of all ages. Originally from Dallas, she attended Dartmouth College before earning her medical degree from McGovern Medical School. She completed her pediatric residency training at NYU Langone Health and went on to practice at a pediatric clinic in Brooklyn for two years prior to moving to Austin. After residency, she remained at the clinic as a provider for several years before deciding to return to her Texas roots! She will begin seeing patients regularly at Austex Pediatrics starting August 3rd.

Dr. Major is passionate about partnering with families through every stage of childhood development, from routine wellness visits to managing more complex medical conditions. As a mother of two young children herself, she understands the importance of building trusting relationships with families and creating a supportive, welcoming environment for patients. She is committed to providing the highest quality care to every child and family at Austex Pediatrics.

Now excited to call Central Texas home, Dr. Major enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, exploring nature, discovering new playgrounds around Austin, and hiking. She also has a Goldendoodle named Sophie and once climbed Mount Kilimanjaro.
